Various Forms Of Acne Treatment Worcester

The medications for acne work through reduction of oil produced, speed up of turnover of skin cells, reducing inflammation or fighting bacterial infection. Light therapy has been used for some time with a level of success. The mode of treatment tends to target bacteria that bring about acne inflammation. Light therapy is done from home or in the office of the doctor. A hand held device is used to perform blue light therapy from home. Sensitivity to light, pain and temporary redness are among the side effects.

Chemical peel is the procedure whereby there is repeated application of such chemical solutions as salicylic acid. This form of treatment is most effective when combined with various other types of treatment. People taking oral retinoids should not consider chemical peel.

The skin specialist will use some special tools for removing whiteheads gently. These are the whiteheads which were never cleared through the use of topical medications. There however is the possibility that scarring will be experienced. The scarring can be handled in various ways and should never be cause for worry.
