Jogging or running is the superior way to work out if you're looking for an exercise that is completely safe and natural. There are runners and joggers all over the world that have been exercising this way for thousands of years, and this was before there were fitness clubs and bench press machines. Now, when many people are leading sedentary lives and having problems with their health and weight, running can be a great way to return to a healthy state. Before you start jogging, and afterwards, be sure you do proper stretching exercises. Stretching and warming up is extremely important, and you can avoid possible injury. Stretching helps keep your muscles flexible and able to withstand the impact of jogging or running. When you stretch, you should stay relaxed and not strain yourself. The entire point for stretching to avoid injury, so don't cause them by stretching to impress and proceed slowly. Never push to the point of pain when you stretch, and if you do feel pain immediately and slowly back off. Always relax during your stretches, once again, and just take it easy - no world records need to be set.

Ideally, stretch your entire body and not just your legs, and do it lightly before and after jogging. You may want to talk to your doctor first, but if you're cleared to exercise, then walking is a terrific method to get your body used to the idea of exercise and using your legs a lot. It doesn't matter how slowly you go, and then take your time and make slow improvements. When the time is right, then just simply begin jogging slowly, and go according to your pace and feeling. When you proceed slowly and with caution, then you're reducing the chances of possible injury.

While we're talking about it, there's nothing wrong with power walking because it is a very good form of exercise, and even some people like to do that if they cannot run for whatever reason. Still though, we heartily suggest getting started with the walking, and that will allow your body to adjust to everything. You need to stay healthy and avoid injuries to get the most out of jogging. While jogging is great for your health and fitness, it can also cause certain injuries.

Listening to your body and watching for warning signs is a great way to avoid injuries. While you want to push yourself, you don't want to overdo it. If you are just starting out with jogging, start off slowly and gradually increase your speed and distance. You must stop running if you feel any sharp pains and see your doctor if it doesn't go away. You will end up doing more harm than good if you push too hard, so pay attention to how you feel when you run. No doubt, jogging can make you healthy, happier, and people really do have fun doing it. It's one of the good workouts such as with the help of an exercise bike that you can do to lose weight and you may find that you still want to jog even when you've reached your ideal weight.
