A good tip for proper maintenance is to sign up with a club or some other gym that requires upfront payment. Paying in advance may guilt you into going more often. This plan is designed for those who need the extra motivation.

Keep track of your calorie consumption. Knowing the amount of calories you eat each day is essential to finding out if you'll lose or gain weight. When you only use calories at your level of maintenance or lower, and you lose some while you exercise, you will find you are fitter sooner.

A good tip to keeping in good shape is joining a health club and when you do, pay for a few months upfront. You will be inspired to get to the gym more often when you know that you would be wasting money if you did not go. Of course, this is something you should do primarily if you have issues committing to a specific location.

Exercise using the right shoes. When you don't wear the proper shoes for your exercise, you run the risk of injuring yourself. They also provide the correct cushioning for your feet so that you are more apt to stick with the workout due to comfort, rather than giving up.

Nobody is able to take on fitness without learning how to properly do it first. Help can be obtained but you have to know what to do to get started.
