Researches show that a food supplement cannot give the same level of nutrition as real food can. Most of the minerals that our body needs come from the food that we eat, since our body cannot manufacture them. So, it does not mean that drinking vitamin pills can make you more healthy.

Drinking the basic and cheapest kind of multivitamin can be helpful for nutrition purposes. However, taking a single type of vitamin is not correct because not every person need that. A person's holistic health can only be promoted by a well-balanced diet.

Only a certain group of individuals need to have regular vitamin intake. This is because there are a lot of factors to think over prior to taking in of special vitamin, such as the daily activities, age group, gender, and even past medications. It has been found out that other sources of body nourishment is unnecessary for most people.

Physicians need to examine the individual's health condition first to know if you are suffering from deficiency. Others will only be recommended to drink multivitamins to become fitter and active. Some people will also have to take it to treat illnesses.

Most people do not think that taking supplements unnecessarily also has possible dangers. Over dosage of it can have toxic and inevitable effects. Fat-soluble ones can cause liver damage when too much are deposited in the liver. Even water-soluble ones can cause diarrhea when taken in too much.

Most nutrition experts all agreed that aside from the small groups of people, mostly does not need to take vitamin or food supplements. Thus, asking the question 'what vitamins and minerals should I take' to your doctor rather than other people is really necessary. They know when a person needs to have regular doses of it.
