Information To Have About Screen Printing Whitehall PA

By Celia Hall

Ranging from the more traditional to the very modern, there are a lot of printing methods to be explored, out there. Screen printing Whitehall PA is both versatile and simple, and is gaining popularity. A woven mesh, here, will be supported by an ink-blocking stencil, and the ink moves thorough and stains the fabric that you are using.

A squeegee or a fill blade is used to pump the ink onto the mesh by way of the stencil. The areas of the screen that are not used in making the image that is going to be created are blocked off by the stencil. This helps to make this quite a simple method, particularly with a simple design.

The process is made much neater with the use of an emulsion which is spread over the mesh before beginning. This helps prevent the ink from becoming too messy and seeping outside of the image made for printing. The emulsion around the stencil design is then burned away with the use of an exposure unit.

This will be done on a surface that is protected. This way, the ink can be prevented from staining the surface and the canvas underneath. So the frame holding the mesh cannot be pushed out of its place and ruin the resulting print, it is taped in place.

The final step before you begin is to then make sure that there are no holes left in the emulsion that the ink can bleed through. For this, you will use tape, special emulsion or a block out pen to ensure that the emulsion no longer has holes. It is at this point when the ink is placed on top of the mesh and the fill bar is used to move it down so that it covers the mesh.

To stop the ink from staining the fabric or paper, unnecessarily, the operator will bring up the screen. Next, the squeegee will be used so the ink in the mesh opening is pressed down onto the surface you want. The ink is distributed carefully and evenly, this way.

This means that the thickness of the ink will match that of the mesh and the stencil, this way. The squeegee, after being pulled down to the bottom of the mesh, will then be pushed right to the back, again. This means that the friction will cause the mesh to lift away from the canvas underneath and, therefore, the stenciled image.

The design can be finished, this way, and there will be much less of a risk of the ink dripping down. Either a wet on wet technique or one with the colors dried on the pressed can be used if multiple colors need to be used. However, the ink might be left to dry, and then the new color will be printed onto it. The new shade can be put on, freshly, since a new screen may be used, here. A variety of possibilities are offered with screen printing Whitehall PA if you have the right knowledge.
