How to Get Lean and Ripped Fast

By Ralph Rickard

You desire a well-defined, ripped body like the ones you've seen in magazines. It is definitely possible, but it requires much discipline. Exercising to build muscle is a very involved approach vs working out for cardiovascular fitness.

You should completely exert yourself when performing weight lifting exercises in order to maximize your muscle gain results. Do this by forcing yourself to keep doing one more repetition until you absolutely cannot. This sends a clear signal to your body that you need more muscle. Remember to get help from a spotter so that you do not suddenly drop the weight when you are finished.

Do not push it hard when you are not at work or building muscles. Take some time to rest every now and then and help your body build its muscles back. You may want to read a nice book or watch one of your favorite movies so that you can let your body rest a bit throughout the day. The energy you save can be used later on when you are working out.

When you are doing muscle building exercises with your arms, you should hit it hard and heavy. This is why your arms are going to need the extra rest. You're going to work them really hard to the point of exhaustion. That is how muscles grow. Now when people hear "point of exhaustion," they often think too much and overdo it. What you're going to do is the amount of reps that you should do, but you're going to lift until you're holding one in mid-air and can't possibly lift anymore. That is how you build those muscles.

Don't forget to stretch. Use your time in the gym for more than weight work. Keep in mind how important flexibility is. If you make your body looser by stretching, you will be able to handle longer periods of lifting. Take it slowly and don't treat stretching like lifting weights; respect your body enough to take your time and properly stretch out.

It is important to eat foods and meals with carbohydrates after your workout and on your rest days. This will help you to rebuild and grow your muscles faster. The reason for this is that consuming carbohydrates causes the production of insulin in your body which in turn slows down the rate at which your body breaks down proteins. Even something as simple as a banana or a peanut butter sandwich will help.

Keep these tips in mind to help you establish monthly goals. Remember building a good muscle mass can take of time and efforts. However, with the right dedication along with knowledge, you can reach your goals.
