How And Why Removable Insoles Are Used

By Shari Swanson

Unfortunately, in these modern times, people are plagued by aches and pains. Fortunately there is at least one ache and pain which can be mitigated. There is now a popular technology which pampers, and indeed goes some way to protecting, the foot. This is how and why removable insoles are used.

Of course, like always, safety must be priority. Even though the shoe insert is meant to help the foot, it can in fact, if used improperly, cause damage to the foot, and even the leg or back. To avoid this, everyone should consult a podiatrist or some other kind of physical therapist.

There are many kinds of removable insoles. As stated they come in different materials, such as wood, rubbers, gels- gel being the most popular at the moment. There are also many different brands who supply multiple shapes and sizes. They also serve different purposes. For instance, some are made to make the person look taller, or to correct a difference in leg length.

Another function of the insert is just for that- comfort. Shoes are often hard bottomed, and particularly for people who stand or exercise a lot, this can bruise the foot, as well as causing bigger problems later on. So a soft layer on the floor of the shoe goes a long way to alleviating pain.

Orthopedic inserts are used for the purpose of physical therapy. They help the foot to maintain strength and structure, for a poorly aligned one creates excess stress on the joints and muscles. People also tend to overcompensate for tired feet by standing awkwardly, this is not good for the legs and could very well cause injuries. It is to prevent these hazards that orthopedic platforms are used. Again, the benefits and dangers of use will vary from person to person.

Again, before wearing inserts, it is very important to make sure they fit the foot, and are compatible, as everybody has a unique body type. That about sums up how and why removable Insoles are used.
