The Haunted Corn Maze Iowa

By Tonia Michael

The construction of corn maze involves cutting complicated patterns into the fields of corn. An ordinary maze of this kind is quite challenging therefore it needs a certain level of crazy to try out a haunted corn maze iowa. From above these structures have a spectacular aerial view due to their intricate forms. And on the ground tourists struggle while trying to find a way out and in the process frighten themselves for hours inside this eerie labyrinth.

As Halloween approaches, these labyrinths are embellished with spooky themes by the farmers. Then the public is charged for admission to go in and navigate in the dark as the farmers stand back listening to screams of terror. In addition to being a family friendly social gathering, it is an ingenious way of earning extra income. The grain is harvested and then sold after the scary season is over.

Maize is a cereal grain that is yellow in color produced on green, long and strong stalks. There are structures known as ears which are attached to the stalk on which maize is borne. Zea mays, the scientific name for maize, is a crop that has been in cultivation since the prehistoric times. The maize kernels can be served in a couple of ways i. E. Fresh, packaged as cereal, flaked or as popcorn.

Clear lake has another interesting Halloween site known as the Buddy Holly crash site. This is the spot where rock and roll musicians Big Bopper, Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens died after crashing in poor weather onboard their Beechcraft Bonanza. The three were in transit to a gig in Minnesota after performing at the Surf Ballroom.

The Iowa state has so many fun as well as grisly places suitable for Halloween celebration. This is one of the reasons why more income is generated through tourism than through corn crop and more evidence to demonstrate this include the Villisca Museum and the Axe Murder House. There site in Villisca is known for the murders of Josiah Moore his six children and wife that were committed in 1912.

Not everybody might enjoy the blood and gore that comes with Halloween especially those of sensitive disposition and the sci fi nerds. In iowa there is a place where a plaque as well as a Star Trek space craft replica have been put to mark the future birthplace of Starships and the commander of Star Treks flagship James T. Kirk. Though an imaginary figure for many, his fans mark his day on March 22 by converging on the town in homage.

There is a tall metalwork referred to as Odyssey situated at the Gateway of Iowa which that has a tenuous link to Halloween. This is the massive artwork of a New York artist known as Albert Paley whose construction cost was $3.5 million. The affectionate nickname given to it is Freddy Krueger Hands which is its connection to Halloween. The Golden Spike Monuments shows the spiky things fondness and was put there as a tribute to the Transcontinental Railroad which was erected back in 1939.

The little and quiet state of Iowa has a lot to offer even though its far from the bustle and hustle of the coasts including the Pacific and the Atlantic. The enormous and quirky statues and the haunted corn maze iowa show the playful side of this small state.
