Juicing IDeas for Newbies

By Faye Connor

Many people have poor eating habits. One of the biggest crimes they make is to not eat enough vegetables. An easy way to fix this health dilemma is to make vegetable juices. Here are a few suggestions to get you started.

Keep your juice making as simple as possible. You needn't make a juice out of 15 different veggies. Just select 3 or 4 that are high in nutrients and juice those together. Your next glass you can always use a few different produce items. If you taste your veggie juice and decide you need it a bit sweeter, simply throw in a green apple.

Cucumber juice has been shown to be beneficial for both your hair and your skin. There is a lot of silica in cucumbers. Tendons, ligaments, bones, muscles and connective tissue all benefit from a healthy intake of silica.

I can't stress enough how important it is to make and consume a lot of green juice made from items like kale, spinach and broccoli. These green veggies contain an awesome amount of vitamins and minerals and make the most impact on your overall health. Try to avoid really sugary items like mango and pineapple.

The best thing you can do is to drink your fresh juice as soon as you've made it. The longer juice sits the more of its nutrients break down so you won't get the full benefit. This is not always possible, I know, so if you have to make your juice in advance, use glass mason jars to store it.

Juicing is wonderful when it comes to fighting some kinds of infections. If you feel you have a bladder infection coming on, juicing is a great idea to get rid of it quick. Add some cranberries to your juicing recipes to help knock out the infection.

Going back to the green juices, yes, they are somewhat of an acquired taste, but that doesn't mean they don't taste good. My first glass of green juice I just didn't care for. My second glass, for some unexplained reason, I absolutely loved. Give green a try. if you need to dress it up for your taste budes try adding a bit of lime juice or ginger for an extra kick.

The best juicer I can recommend is what's called a "masticating" juicer. These are wonderful because they extract the juice very gingerly, keeping more of the amazing nutrients.

These tips have given you some useful information about juicing. Now you need to decide whether you want to start juicing, or continue to avoid those healthy fruits and vegetables and the nutrition they can bring. If you don't like the taste of vegetables, juicing is a excellent option. Happy juicing!
