Using Men Hormone Therapy

By Jake Alexandre

Hormone therapy is a medical treatment for the aged people, if there is deficiency of some hormone or in case of imbalance, hormones are artificially provided to the person or at times we replace the hormones. The purpose of hormone therapy also called hormonal therapy or hormone treatment is to add, block, or remove hormones. Usually hormonal unevenness is the cause for the physical and emotional experiences associated with menopause, and this therapy is useful in that case, but nowa days other hormones such as testosterone or estrogen, are replaced by therapies too. Hormone Replacement Therapy or HRT is not gender specific, instead it is beneficial to both men and women.

As with age, the hormones in human body start declining, and hence need replacement, so this procedure is all about this hormonal substitute.HRT for women is best suitable for menopause, and men hormone therapy is best suitable for testosterone, both are sex hormones in each. Decrease of estrogen in women can cause symptoms such as hot flashes, irritation, and mood swings. Some women take hormone replacement therapy (HRT) also called menopausal hormone therapy, and to relieve these symptoms of testosterone imbalance, men hormone therapy is the best option. In 50% of the patients, this lasts for approximately 5 years or so. This therapy is also used by younger women and men to treat premature ovarian failure or testosterone imbalance.

Men hormone therapy operates by using one or more group of drugs, which are intended to unnaturally enhance bodily hormone levels to bring it up to the mark. The main types of bodily hormones associated with this are progesterone, or progestin, as well as reduced commonly, testosterone. Hormone therapy for men is available in many forms. Its patients are given quantities of one or more estrogen and occasionally are also provided progesterone, or a chemical analog progestin.

Hormone therapy for men comes in many forms. Its patients are provided with dosages of one or more estrogen, and sometimes also provided progesterone, or a chemical analogue progestin. Cyclic hormone therapy for men or sequentially combined HRT, is another method of HRT. In this type of method, dosage of hormones is assorted regularly to make it more closely copy the ovarian hormone cycle.

In this progesterone or progestin are taken for 2 weeks every month, as well as estrogen taken daily. There other procedures available for patients choosing HRT and it is continual integrated HRT. Steady dose of both types of bodily hormones is taken daily in this method. This is a more current innovation. A male bodily hormone generally testosterone, is added to the treatment, and at times an androgen for the therapy of reduced sex drive.
